1. Family Background

My name is Doris.  I have five members in my family. There are my parents, grandmother and elder brother.  When I was a child, my father is seldom at home because he is a military officer.  Accordingly, he was pretty strict with me.  He always tells me, “You should have a sense of responsibility. “  try to follow what he always reminds me.  He is the model whom I quite respect in my mind once and ever.  My mother, a housewife, always takes care of the whole family.  My elder brother is a Junior and studies at Management Information System. To pay his tuition, he has to do part-time jobs.  My grandmother, who is always generous to me is just stay home.  I'm so glad to have such a harmonious family in my wonderful life.

2. School Life

I studied at Department of Applied Foreign Languages, National Tainan Commercial Vocational Senior High School (NTCVS).   Since I commenced learning English, I have been quite interested in it. While studying English, I can gain a sense of achievement.  Moreover, in addition to English, I am also eager to learn more foreign languages such as Japanese, Spanish, Korean, and so on.  This prompts me to learn more about foreign languages and the desire to travel to other countries.  As follows, that’s the reason why I chose English as my major.

To strengthen my competence in English, I study the textbooks, listen to English music, read English magazines, and watch Hollywood movies.  In my high school, English teachers also give students some exams, including listening, reading, and oral tests, which could not only examine our English abilities but also train us the bravery for performing in front of our classmates.  I feel an immerse gratitude to my teachers and classmates.

In my opinion, I’m an inverted and shy girl.  I always talks to someone with a blush.  But if you know me better, you will find that I have a good sense of humor. I’m interested in listening to music, which can not only console me while I am in a bad mood but also make me feel relaxed under pressure.  In addition to Chinese music, I like English, Japanese, and Korean music as well.  Furthermore, I can learn more about the native languages and cultures by listening to music from different countries.  With my interest and hobbies, I can sharpen my English ability as well.

4. Future Perspectives

When I graduate from the senior high school, I would like to be admitted to a college at Department of Foreign Languages in the next following four years.  Because I have the interest in learning not only English but also the other foreign languages like French and Japanese.  Fortunately, my parents are in favor of my decision and encourage me to study harder so that I can be a sucacessful person in the future.  Furthermore, in case of having a chance to go abroad, I would try my best to experience the foreign cultures and be immersed in the classical learning environments.  After sharpening my foreign languages ability, I long to be an interpreter or a tutor to teach more students interested in foreign languages, just like me.

My name is Yang. I am 17 years old. My English name is Wendy. There are seven people in my family, and I am the second child among five. My father is the undertaker of a factory and my mother is a housewife. My sister is a university student, while my younger sisters and brothers are junior high school students. Since I was a kindergarten student, I have enjoyed singing and dancing very much. Usually, I volunteered to perform in front of the class. While working with those vigorous and creative fellows, I never feel tired or bored.

This summer, my drama club had produced a play called “Aladdin” as our graduation ceremony show. I played Aladdin's mother, a comic role in the play with greedy and sarcastic characteristics. Because it is a musical, all the performers had to sing and dance at the same time. And thanks to two professional teachers who volunteered to instruct us, we even did the chorus during the play which was a quartet with fantastic dancing. During the holidays we came to school doing rehearsals and made costumes and props. We did the play very successfully and that was really a wonderful experience. I was so enchanted by this creative stage world that I started to consider seriously whether this is a dream for me to pursue. My parents told me to do what I want but not what I am expected to and this is why I decided to apply for the drama department.

I want to become a stage actress, just like other companions who have the same ideal. To me, a play can not only offer people entertainment, but also, most of the time, provide people with a different point of view toward lives. Compared with those who come from a professional school with fully trained skills, maybe I am far too idealistic and naïve. I know nothing is easy and I think being a drama department student would be a big challenge. I learned a line from my English teacher, which is “Not until you give it a try will you not know the result.” I got passion and expectation to myself, and wish you would give me an opportunity to make my dream come true.

I am Tao. My English name is Angela. I am 17 years old. I am from Taipei First Girls' High School. I come from a well-to-do family. My mother passed away when I was in my first junior high year. There are several negative effects about opening a large factory in a small town.  For one thing, the release of gas brings about some environmental pollution, such as air and noise pollution.  Moreover, if the factory releases the waste water into the ocean, it will harm the fish and aquatic plants, even humanity.  Worst of all, the carbon dioxide released from the factory may lead to global warming.  For another thing, the popularity will have a dramatic increase and the problems of overpopulation because of the construction of the factory.  Furthermore, jobs will be fewer and fewer be chosen for employees because people from another place are eager to the jobs in Acton as well so that the unemployment will be increasing.  In order to protect the quiet and peace environment, the local residents should not build a large factory in their affectionate hometown.

People in the world have different opinions about it.  It is often argued that the death penalty should be abolished because it loses their Survival Right.  However, in my opinion, I think we should use the death penalty as soon as possible. To the criminals, they don’t deserve the choice because they had hurt others’ spirit and lost their rights.  Some people think that we can give them an opportunity of turning over a new leaf and making up for the mistakes they had made.  Nonetheless, I consider that using the death penalty can control the bad behavior of the public, reduce the crime rate, and identify with the miserable victims. Although many people insist that we often abuse the death penalty and don’t know the standard of the punishment, which may bring about a lot of broken family. Nevertheless, I think that if the convicts can respect precious life and learn the importance of it, they won’t hurt innocent people.  It is for all the above-mentioned reasons that I believe go on using the death penalty is the best punishment for criminals.

After flipping through descriptions of two apartments which named Fairfax Apartments and CAMPUS APTS, we would like to Fairfax Apartments. There are several reasons why we would choose this one. In the first place, Fairfax Apartments have 2 bedrooms, and the extensive space can contain us. Furthermore, Owing to both of us cannot endure the burning sun in summer, we choose Fairfax Apartments which is air conditioned. Moreover, Fairfax Apartments is furnished that is a great for us. We don’t have to think twice about and buy new furniture. The only flaw of Fairfax Apartments is that the rent is more expensive than that of CAMPUS APTS. Nonetheless, we don’t care about it because we have a comfortable circumstance to live in.

Suddenly, I found that I couldn't find it at all. My cell phone was lost! I lost my head and didn't know how to deal with the problem on the bus. The only thing I could do was to get home as soon as possible and ask my family for help. After knowing the bad news, Mom dialed the bus telephone service. Foutunately, there was a student picked up my cell phone from the bus which I took from my school. I contacted with her without delaying and expressed my great gratitude to her. From this unforgettable experience, I have learned a lesson that I should take care of everything with care every time.

At that sight, I was so frightented taht I tried to run out of the classroom promptly. Unfortunately, all of these zombies caught up with me and I couldn’t move anymore. To be at a loss, I took a miraculous pencil from the pocket of my pants. Then I attacked them with this pencil. To my surprise, it took effect and all the zombies died out. Feeling comfortable, I got up from the strange dream. This is such an impressed experience for me.
